The VSU Multipurpose Center will be launching a Clear Bag Policy that will go into effect on September 26, 2023, for all events at the venue.

The decision is a step towards OVG360 and Virginia State University’s ongoing commitment to safety and security for all who enter our doors.

Please leave prohibited items at home. Guests with bags not meeting guidelines will be asked to return them to their vehicles.

It is imperative that our guests and employees feel safe within our establishment. Our campus and community obligations are to make this an efficient process and positive environment.

Please review the examples of approved and non-approved bags below.

Bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and cannot exceed 12? x 6? x 12? or clear one-gallon plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar) are also permitted.

• Small clutch bags/wallets no larger than 4.5? x 6.5? (with or without a handle or strap) can be taken into the stadium or arena and will be subject to search.

• An exception will be made for items necessary for medical reasons after proper inspections.

Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to: backpacks, briefcases, camera bags, cinch bags, computer bags, coolers, diaper bags, duffle bags, fanny packs, luggage, and any other bag deemed to not meet the clear bag policy.
